The terminology doesn’t matter. Memory can be invasive and heart-wrenching. Somethings feel like you cannot recover from. The Human Spirit knows differently, though. It bleeds resilience and hope and memories of others’ triumphs. Try to find purpose in the midst of the storm. Try to engage the process of re-memory – the process of reframing, reconfiguring the old memories, so they seem manageable, so they seem like growth. The memories, sometimes, cannot be friendly, but maybe they do not have to be unable to view. Look for the similarities of growth and evolution that lives in life, as it exists in you.
